Spiral snakes are the perfect combination of process art with a mesmerizing result that’s so fun to watch!
Materials:
- Paper plate or cardstock paper
- Googly eyes *optional
- Art supplies- Paint sticks | Dot markers | Scented markers
- Construction paper (red)
- Glue bottle
- String
- Scissors- adult
Instructions:
Cut a large circle out of cardstock paper or paper plate instead. Then decorate! Use whatever art supplies you have on hand- our favorites are dot markers, paint sticks, and scented markers. Add any designs and lots of colors! While your child is decorating, cut a thin strip of red construction paper and cut out a small triangle from the end to form a tongue.
Once the snake has been decorated, create a spiral by cutting around from the outside to the center of the circle. Glue the tongue in the center (where the head is) and add googly eyes if you’d like. Make a small hole in the center, and tie a string for hanging. Hang spiral snakes near a window, use the string to make them slither and move, or give them a puff of air and watch them twirl!
