What Goes Together is a fun critical thinking activity using favorite toys.
Materials:
- Markers
- Easel paper
- Various toys
Instructions:
Gather 5 pairs of various toys (for example- two DUPLO blocks, two Little People figurines, two magnet alphabet letters, etc.) and put the toys into one pile. On a piece of easel paper draw squares to create 5 rows of 2. Find two toys that go together and group them in the boxes in the first row. Continue until all toys have been paired up and grouped together.
Tip- Be open to new ways of grouping the items! Some reasons can be obvious (they’re both LEGO blocks) and others might be deeper (they’re both animals, they both have stripes, they’re both blue, etc.)
What are they learning?
