Get moving as you hop across the shape path in this hopscotch twist!
Materials:
Instructions:
Choose six pieces of construction paper and draw a large basic shape on each one (square, circle, triangle, oval, rectangle, and heart). Use painter’s tape to attach the shapes in a path (straight or zig-zag) on the floor. Invite your child to hop or run to a shape and name the shape they’re standing in.
Extension- Call out the name of the shape for your child to hop to. You can also try tossing a recycled lid and hopping to the shape that’s closest to it.
Tip- If it’s a nice day out, take this activity outdoors! Use chalk to draw the shapes on the sidewalk and enjoy some outside movement.
