Introduce color theory while painting with warm and cool colors.
Materials:
- Washable paint
- Cardstock paper (white)
- Tray (2)
- Paint palette, paper plate, or recycled egg carton
- Markers
- Paintbrushes
Instructions:
Prepare two palettes of paint- one palette for warm colors (red, orange, yellow) and another for cool colors (blue, green, purple). Label each palette with a piece of paper using markers in the same warm and cool colors. Provide a piece of cardstock and a tray for each palette and paint with one set of paints at a time to create two paintings- a warm color painting and a cool color painting.
Tip- If you’d like, paint alongside your child then switch places so you each work with both palettes! What a fun way to connect!
