Recycled STEM building
Add some fun recycled props to your building zone! Fill a few baskets, bowls, or containers with recycled materials such as cans (check for sharp edges), cardboard pieces, cardboard tubes, balled-up newspaper, paper/plastic cups, pouch lids, and empty food boxes to build with. Donβt forget to include some tape too!
π Exploration
This smiley face snack is super cute and a ton of fun to make- your child will love helping you in the kitchen while they practice fine motor and practical life skills while promoting language development behind the scenes!
Smiley Face Snack
First, spread your favorite nut butter, hummus, or other spread on a piece of toast, English muffin, or rice cake. Then, prepare some fruit or vegetables by cutting them into circles or crescent shapes to use as facial features (we like using apples, bananas, and strawberries). Focus on one feature (eyes, nose, mouth, ears) at a time, and use a mirror to discuss where each part belongs on the face. Have fun building the face then enjoy a yummy snack!
π΅ Opening
Then, practice the weekβs nursery rhymes, poems, or songs.
