Place the matching amount of fish into each pond.
Materials:
- Small snack (Goldfish, cereal, raisins, etc.)
- Copy paper
- Markers
- Crayons
- Small bowl
Instructions:
On a piece of copy paper, draw 5-8 blobs (making some larger than others) using a blue marker. These will be little ponds. Label each pond with a numeral, writing larger numerals in the larger ponds, and draw circles to correspond with each numeral. For example, inside pond number 4, youβll draw 4 circles. Then, color the inside of each pond with a blue crayon. Pour some small snacks (Goldfish make for a cute activity) but cereal, raisins, or another similar option works well. This will be the fish! Choose a pond, identify the numeral, and count as you place a βfishβ into each small circle in the pond. Continue until each pond has the matching amount of fish!
Extension- To make this activity more challenging, omit the small circles in each pond. Label each pond with a numeral only.
