Make a jumbo graph to sort building blocks by color.
Materials:
- Colored building blocks (building bricks, wooden blocks, foam blocks, or similar)
- Easel paper
- Markers
- Painterβs tape
- Sticky notes
Instructions:
Choose 2-4 different colored building blocks and collect a handful of blocks in each color. On butcher paper, draw rows and columns to create a graph. Assign each column a color that corresponds with the building blocks and indicate the color using markers along the X-axis (horizontal). Label the Y-axis (vertical) with numbers written on sticky notes. Sort the building blocks by color on the graph (for example, all the red blocks in the red column). Which color has the most blocks? How many blocks are in the blue column?
