Put the building blocks in order to spell your name in this activity that promotes name and letter recognition.
Materials:
- Building blocks that connect (building bricks, Mega Bloks, or similar)
- Painter’s tape
- Permanent marker
- Copy paper
Instructions:
On a piece of copy paper, write your child’s name to refer to as you build. Next, grab several square building blocks that can connect (such as DUPLO blocks, Mega Bloks, or another similar option). You’ll need enough blocks to spell your child’s name. Place a strip of painter’s tape on one side of each block and write a letter on the tape to spell out your child’s name. Ensure the letters will be facing the correct direction when connected before offering the pieces to your child. Work together to reference the name tag and decide which letter block to find and connect.
