Most days it’s just a case of watercolors and a blank canvas and she will happily make her own little scenery masterpiece, or just enjoy filling the page with color 🌈 . A few times a week I will also prepare a simple painting prompt for her to explore. This one here was a simple invitation to paint the shapes. It was a great way to reuse our shape outlines from our loose parts activity yesterday. . She carefully chose her colors for each shape. As she painted I floated in and out of the room with some simple questions such as what is the name of that shape, or how many sides does it have? This led to some great numeracy conversations. .
